WNBA Star Asjha Jones of the Connecticut Sun is one of the latest athletes to turn her passion into a business. Earlier this year Jones’ partnered with Final IV Enterprises, an apparel and footwear company based in Atlanta, GA to begin work on her long time dream of creating and designing a footwear line for women wearing sizes 10.5 to 15. The collection, rightfully named Takera, after Jones’ middle name offers versatile and stylish options for women with large sized feet and was born out of the stars personal plight with finding comfortable yet fashionable shoes that fit her size 13 feet.
Takera was privately showcased at this years’ WNBA All star event at the Mohegan Sun and was largely recognized by many of the leagues best, including NY Liberty guard Cappie Pondexter and WNBA’s president Donna Orender. You can also find Takera in this month’s issue of O (Oprah) Magazine, on stands now.
The collection plans to offer everything from the “Asjha” a sexy 4 inch strappy sandal with a platform stiletto and Takera’s own AnGel technology (Gel cushions in the heel and ball of the shoe for comfort) to the “Elana” and of course “The All-Star“, a fashion tennis shoe perfect for those weekend skinny jeans. Takera Shoes is set to launch in March.
