It’s finally September. Fall is just around the corner, with its official beginning date just a matter of weeks away. Rejoice! Is it just me or is anyone else sick to death of the summer heat? Not to mention, I’m dying to wear my new fall wardrobe I purchased last month. What am I most excited about, however? BOOTS! Oh, boots. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways… Sadly, though, we are still a couple of weeks, possibly more if you live in the south, away from being able to slip our feet into those magical boots. But the weather is starting to cool down, albeit slightly. So what is one to wear when the flip flops and sandals have been worn thin, but the humidity won’t allow our boots to wake from hibernation quite yet? Transitional footwear.
I’ve always had a hard time finding just the right shoes to carry me from late summer straight into fall. This year, however, there are several adorable options that are on trend while also remaining highly versatile and functional. Right now, pair the shoes below with summer dresses and skirts, shorts or capris and lighter fabrics. Next month, when that brisk fall breeze starts to blow in, wear them with tights, pants, tweeds and cozy sweater dresses.
