Not that I’m advocating the use of fur from any animal, but thought these were interesting. Makes my feet sweat just looking at them!

ADMIRING Meret Oppenheim’s fur-covered bangle in 1936, Pablo Picasso remarked that anything could be covered in the material. Apparently Phoebe Philo agrees. To accompany her clean-lined fall collection for Céline, the designer took a pair of classically elegant black suede sandals and lined the inner sole with rabbit fur remnants. The results are strange. And surreal. And outrageously decadent. But, worn with a pair of slim ankle-length trousers and a simple blouse, also pretty fantastic.
Céline suede sandals with fur lining, $770 at Kirna Zabête, 96 Greene Street, New York, NY, USA; (212) 941-9656.
